Therapy Approach
I draw from a variety of approaches depending on the needs and goals of the individual.
Some of the typical approaches I use are:
Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to identify behaviors and thoughts that will lead to feeling better.
Mindfulness to increase your awareness of what you are thinking and feeling and to decrease reactivity and unconscious reactions.
Aspects of Dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT) to improve emotional regulation and distress tolerance.
Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to address the effects of past traumatic experiences.
Additional theories and methods when needed.
